langgue future dari cerita jakarta city

  • Jakarta is rapidly improving these years, especially after the busway plan succeeded and Jokowi became the mayor.

I've spent my life living in North Jakarta for almost 18 years, and I got to see annual flooding on my area. The flood, which is usually bad for building developer's prospects and jobs, doesn't stop the erection of numerous megastructures. The flood doesn't pause our daily activities. And I can personally conclude that flood is not an impossible problem to be solved, even though it's a major problem.

Another improvement is the making of city parks, which boosts greeneries and expands space to breath fresh air inside this concrete-ful city. The plan to build more apartments instead of houses for the slum is also an effective approach to make the citizens feel more comfortable.

Unfortunately, seems like there haven't any working solutions to the traffic in Jakarta. The roads are too small and there are no available spaces to expand them. We might build fly overs but the city landscape contradicts the available vertical spaces for roads. But still, the jams can be slightly reduced by the limitations of vehicles on the road.

Lastly, in my opinion, the future of Jakarta is bright. There will be high end buildings and skyscrapers, lots of apartments, just like NYC and Hongkong. The floods will be flushed away easily but the traffic will still bad or even worse than today.
